Ministers pay rising again
Linda C29-Aug-23 01:01 pm
Well the good ole MP's have given themselves another pay rise equivalent to a pension or newstart etc. and that's without all the other benefits they receive including millions spent on flights. Aussies are losing their homes, living on the street due to lack or loss of housing, eating less, giving up pets as they cannot afford to feed them, going without heating and or air conditioning, and even a cup of coffee out is off the list for many these days and these trough eaters think it is OK to get more added to their $400,000 plus pay packets.
The Voice referendum is another waste of taxpayers money amounting to Millions again.
We have over 1 million children in this country living in poverty. Their pay rise would go a long way to alleviating this and I feel the money would be well spent.
When will they ever learn that the taxpayers give this money to look after the citizens and not theirs to use and waste.
How do you all feel about this new insult to the Australian people?

Would the MPs go on strike if it wasn't granted? Would we notice?

lol Nah, they have set it up so they always get it all at our expense and then we are made to feel guilty when things get tough. It is the older generation living too long, blah blah

Our corrupt and totally Dishonest Federal and State Politicians claim they cannot refuse the massive pay rises the Not-So-Independent Remuneration Commission - it should be remembered that it is Appointed by the Politicians so it is 100% Owned by them, never mind that we, the Taxpayers, are not allowed to know who it is that actually makes up this Remuneration Commission, we can bet it will include former politicians, judges, senior public servants - These massive and totally unjustified Pay Rises do not simply end with Federal Politicians they flow through to the Federal Public Service chiefs, Judiciary, State and Territory politicians and all of their senior Public Servants and the Judiciary. Think on this. There are some Public Servants who are being paid 100s of 1000s more than the Prime Minister, State Premiers and Territory First Ministers! Our obscene politicians then use that lovely cash to buy countless Residential Properties which they charge ever-increasing rents for and then they Negfatively Gear the lot so that they end up paying NO INCOME TAX at all. It is no wonder that they all oppose any suggestion that Negatively Gearing should be abolished. One ALP, yes a politicians who supposedly represents the Down-trodden Masses, owns so many properties that he oh-so-conveniently forgot to mention that just a few years ago and before the price of housing escalated as it has done recently, he owned one property which was worth OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS. These parasites, abolished the old Arbitration Commission, which set OUR wages, but have their Own organisation which sets their wages, it has never, ever refused to grant their annual 3% to 4% Pay rises. On top of all that cash they also get FREE TRANSPORT to and from work, Free Transport anywhere they want to go. The current Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Linda Burney chartered a SOLE USE Aircraft to transport her around. The current Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese has spent more time big-noting himself overseas thah he has actually spent in Australia working for Us, and he is about to go on yet another Taxpayer-funded junket. All this expense for the current leader of a country which is almost at the bottom of the list of importance, a very, very minor and insignificant world power. He would rather allow Foreign Troops to be stationed on Australian Soil and doing exactly as the USA tells him than standing up for Australia, his predecessors were/are no different. He wants us to give a very small minority of Australians, less than 4%, Rights and Privilkedges which he refuses to grant the rest of the population. Already thanks to this we have other minority groups within Australian Society who are now demanding that they be granted the same Rights and Privilegdes! If it is good enough for one it is good enough for all.

Yes and they will be given paid jobs to give their opinion - if it is passed - to Parliament which 100's of committees already do. Just more at the trough.

I think that after India we have the biggest civil service per capita in the world...what do we need them all for?...our prime minister...living in a large country with almost no-one living here gets paid twice the wages of the UK prime minister...lots and lots of greedy piggies with their snouts in the trough....we have 108 departments dealing with aboriginal affairs too...apparently they don't work...we need more...good to see our tax payer money is being put to good use...right? ....maybe politicians...along with teachers... should get salaries based upon performance..and have them reviewed by independent bodies....

No everyone did but yes they were voted in as we all got sick of the last lot who were heavily feeding and still are. Same shit different cess poll. I have always said there should be accountability done for every penny spent and not by someone in house and not by the same company year after year.

It is really sad to say that this is never news it is always expected and it is a shame when it is usually on the back of "ordinary workers need to tighten their belts to help the economy" when giving this underpaid section of society a payrise would be more helpful.

I'm disgusted really. If Albanese were working in the private sector he would be sacked for performance issues same as his predecessor the arrogant liberal one. Politicians should be sent to a special school. It's the school where they are trained to govern for the majority not the voice. I agree with your summation of the facts but if you're a parasitic lawyer who gains financially through the voice I know exactly how you will vote. Then theres those that don't give a sh..it until it's to late and then there's albo and the like. I've mentioned this before why not deflect from the real issues of our country for 6 to 12 months by using the voice of the minority as a conduit to do sweet .... for the majority.

There are good lawyers but yes a few parasitic ones also. I am not sure If you were saying you would know how I will vote - you do not. I am not a lawyer either but a retired woman in her 70's. The arrogant liberal predecessor was Mr. Morrison. I stated it was a bit of a smoke screen in the beginning. Now it has gotten way out of hand with the millions spent on the advertising, Albanese going on and on about it when there are other major problems that need to be looked at and fixed. Labor always gets in and stuffs up with their rubbish ideas. I doubt they will get back in
