I had one neighbour who used to drop in for four hours, then within 5 minutes of getting home she would ring up. Every time I went into the backyard she would show up. I put up a couple of woodsheds to block th view and got upset with me and stopped showing up. One day in the supermarket,I ran into one of her friends, who told me how embarrassed she was ever time she came out the front and seen us in the backyard. I just couldn’t believe that.

There was the bloke that buried roadkill cats under his fruit trees. The cops thought burying his wife under an apple tree was a bit over the top., though

My neighbour in the property next door is also my ex-landlord. He set fire to my apartment complex which he owned at the time for building insurance when he couldn't sell it for the price he wanted, unfortunately, the fire was lit under my apartment and I was at home sleeping at the time. Luckily because the floor joist was hardwood and coated in tar, it didn't take but all the smoke and soot filled up my apartment & I suffered from smoke inhalation. But hey at least I didn't die. "True Story"

Barking dog is the least worries. The worst nightmare is the craziest person is your neighbour who keep dropping off cursing letter to your mailbox. Pierce holes to your gardening hose. 🫣🥹 and to tell you should move out. 🤯🤬 Whenever you go out, you have to walk around around the block instead of walking pass through the crazy person front/ driveway 😖😭

Becky H, can you grow a hedge along your fence or isn't there enough room.....or put up some posts and put up a trellis with fake ivy (you buy the whole thing ready made) or something similar on it. I've seen one & it looks great. It makes more shade in the Summer too. I think they bought it at a "Cheap" shop.

Kids bouncing on a trampoline right next to the fence throwing balls onto our roof, them bouncing down onto our carport into the gutter, then me expected to get up on the ladder and throw them back. After several efforts within 1/2 hour and some warnings I made them wait until the next day, tossed it back over the fence and apparently it landed under the sprinkler (they swore about their ball being too heavy)

My dad became a police officer and we had a little old lady living next door. One day she caught my dad outside working on our rose bed so she came over and asked him if he would come over and tell her what she was doing wrong with her grandsons tomato plant. She had been watering it and keeping the bugs away from it for three months and hadn't gotten one tomato from it. Of course my dad went to see what the problem was, tuned out she had been taking care of her grandsons marijuana plant. LoL

I had some lovely brothers next door at my old residence.. where do I start? The yard swiftly filled up with collectors dreams ,,( piles of trash) a blow up plastic pond in the front ,a rusted out caravan in the driveway ..that was for carving up purposes of course ( cash for scrap) but we did that at around 2 am with an angle grinder ..the older brother was psych nut ,yelling out all sorts to the neighbours in their homes and at his own brother.. I could hear him through the wall on the phone to him even when he'd had the sense to go out for the night ! He pulled a knife on one neighbour who stood up to him ,though when the police showed up they both acted like it was all fine and shook hands ..? Then the dog used to jump my fence as they had him tied up ,so I would find him sitting in my veggie patch.... fun times til they got evicted and then a mum and her prostitute daughter moved in afterwards .. well they were a lot quieter but I did hear a few interesting brothel stories while said daughter was on the phone to her work colleagues Haha 😂 They eventually moved ,then another mother and her adult son arrived. Oddly his centrlink mail always came to my address? Bit strange I thought ,ended up reporting him after I had returned it to them a number of times with my address crossed out and asked why would this be even possible ? Dodgy as! The blue heeler barked from 8am on the dot until 5pm Mon to Fri for around 5 years ..I almost went completely insane ..yet have around 2% sanity remaining to do surveys with my marvellous neighbours on Rewardia nowadays in a new damn location! My neighbours sold me the vacant lot next to their house. They had changed the boundaries because their shed was in the way. Except they didn't and stopped me building my home for 18 months. Then when they finally did the paperwork, the survey doesn't match the application, and they had moved the survey pegs! Nobody - my lawyer, theirs, or the selling agent noticed the land discrepancy when I bought it and it still isn't fixed nearly 3 years after I purchased. I can't do anything as I can't afford a lawyer. I spent so much while I was waiting on accommodation and extra building costs and now live pay to pay. Now I live in my home, he is a stalker - he comes outside and watches me every time I'm outside. He must be in his late 70s.

My small dog has the loudest bark and i tell him it is not good for him to bark from time to time. I get down on the floor and ask him to bark softly. He will settle down to diing this and the ads mwill come on tv. He will then start up his loud bark again. I ask him to do it siftly which he does. I did buy a secret barker and it was for the bug dogs. Somebody decided they needed it more than myself. I do nit know where it went. Im not sure how to quieten him all the time.

My husband tried to save the neighbour cat from our dog , he got bitten and scratched by the cat badly had to get a tenus shot and after that our neighbour abused us until they moved out , never again

My neighbour told me that my dog howled when we were out. Our dog died 3 years prior to this. (Neighbours can be great).

Apart from a few barking dogs and people who let their weeds grow into my garden not much goes on in our neighbourhood. We're all on pretty good terms with them.

Unit above me at my old complex. Guy living there had a drug problem. One night in a drug fuelled rage he chucked his refrigerator over the balcony. He was also known to stand on balcony and scream at the police helicopters whenever they flew over.

Not "wild", but extremely irritating. Guy Fawkes night is on 5 Nov, and fireworks go on sale on 2 Nov ... that means we have and have had and will get idiots letting off fireworks every night for probably the next two weeks, and then randomly through until late January with the Asian New Year. Fireworks should NOT be sold to the general public!😡 (Despite the so-called "cost of living crisis", they seem to still be able to waste piles of money on pointless fireworks!)

We had Neighbours that got drunk every week. He would then bash her. He would then ring the ambulance to take her to hospital. On night she got in first and hit him between the big toes. She called the ambulance. Who on arrival said " it must be your turn mate"

When I stayed with my mom & dad, before I got married, our neighbor from across the road would stay up at night to see what time I got in & then go tell my parents like she was trying to get me in trouble. She would peep through the curtains when I pulled up in the driveway .

Sorry I've nothing to add after reading the discussions.

The 1st neighbours we had when we moved here - one ended up dying from toxic induced dementia from his drinking but that was after two years of constant harrassment and threats. Why? Because we are on pensions but could afford to pay cash for this house and they couldn't handle that We had sold our last house after paying that off over time but that didn't count,. She worked 3 part time jobs and he worked long hours in the mines and they lost their house when taxes finally caught up with them and they had to rent.. A week before we were finally due to go to court over his behaviour was when he died a long slow painful death. Many many things but aiming towards my husband with a live chainsaw and they poisoned our dog. We couldn't go outside ever because they were there drinking 24/7. Had cops here many times including one night when I was here alone him standing at the end of my driveway armed with big rocks which he put down so he could rub his hands in glee when he realised I was alone. Throwing vegetables at our house and car as car was coming up the driveway after I called my husband and told him to come home. We have pages of reports and an entire external hard drive of video footage. The night we had an earthquake she was parked up our driveway with the engine running honking her horn at 9pm etc etc.

It was probably me doing it, not so much other people.

I was living in town - my neighbour would let his hemns free range! I t was a new house and we were trying to grow a lawn. When those hens started coming inside I asked if he would keep them on his own property. He did not. So I caught all 10 of them and took them to a friends farm. Maybe I am the neighbour from hell!! The next part of the story was that he got more of them. Another neighbour must have been tired of them too because they were all strangled in the night.

For years, the neighbor across the street (same guy who used to tease me at the bus stop when we were in high school) harassed my husband and me. He let the neighborhood teens hang out in his garage and gave them beer and sent them to do his dirty deeds since they were juveniles and if caught, it wouldn't go on their record. Our front room window was shot with bb's and broke, they put our hose in our carport closet and turned it on while we weren't home so it flooded our living room carpet. They threw brown stain on my yellow car. There were often dead rats put in our mailbox. The neighbor cranked called us and we had to change our number. When there was construction happening across the street, they wrote the F word and my name on the porta potty. The boys would yell at me, "show us your breasts." They put my kids toys on the roof and threw a dildo in our back yard for my kids to find. We never knew what we would find when we got home and couldn't afford to move. The police said they couldn't do anything unless there was $1000 worth of damage from one incident and that we needed to hide somewhere and catch them ourselves. This was before everyone had surveillance cameras.

When I was about 15, I woke up in the night then started to ffel really scared for some reason. Then I heard some really noisy UFO so I was thinking coming closer and making all its noises and hovering before I heard in landing in the vacant land next door. Then I could hear the doors opening and something coming out and hovering closer and closer on a jet pack thing, then it came right up to my window on the second floor and started tapping on my window. This whole time I was to petrified to open my eyes. I just kept telling it in my mind to leave me alone and go away. So then after I while it stopped tapping my window and hovered back to thie so called UFO ship I heard to door close. Then heard it lift off and fly away. I was so scared and petrified I couldn't dare to open my eyes. In the moring I asked my brother and sister and step father and mother if they had heard anything. they all said no. so In the morning I went and inspected the grass in the vacant land I thought the ship landed in. I even asked the neighbour on the other side of that vacant land if they had heard anything on my way to catch the bus to school. But they said they hadn't. I told all my friends at school about it. But now I still have to wonder if I had somehow imagined the whole thing.

When I was younger, my family rented half of a double house that had a creepy history. One of the former owners shot and killed his son. We knew it was true because the story was in the newspaper. Another tenant supposedly hung himself in our attic. Our landlady's husband killed himself in the backyard. After we moved in, one night, my sister and I were home alone when we heard someone creeping down the stairs from our attic. We were so scared! It turned out that it was the landlady's boyfriend, trying to get away from his wife! I was so glad when we moved out of that house of terror!

I have neighbours whose house is higher than mine, and they sit out on their verandah looking into my yard and home. I already have over 6ft fences with a further extension and they can still see in.

I got hit by my neighborly father as they 5 years child or young didn't go in to homework but want to play. I don't talk to him and will walk away when see him and his family. My mum didn't care as a man as my sister said what happens.

We now live in the country with crops and cattle as neighbours so we don't have any problems these days. When we lived on the GC we had a house at the back of our block which had a very long drive way. The early morning revving of cars disturbed us and Mr bucket man. He would fill a bucket with water 10 to 15 times, we thought oh for goodness sake buy the man a hose. Hubby was doing early morning shifts at the air port and one night the en suit was lit up by a heap of lights. It was an ambulance coming to hospitalise the wife because she was having a bad turn. Turned out she had cancer and she had passed away while we were on our caravan trip. The husband remarried and we had even more cars up the drive way. Plus he had put in a new shed which he worked out of. Long story short sold out of there as fast as we could and we are very happy where we are today. Still some times google the house and where we once owned and we always think Thank goodness we don't still live there.

My biggest nightmare is the neighbor across the street has a houseful of dogs, and in the summer they are outside and all they do is bark…from daylight to dark,so darn aggravating!

We live on a very quiet rural road and there are maybe 5 houses with year-round residents/families... all good... but there are a couple properties that are "seasonal" camps, in particular the one across from us... three or four times a year they come up and spend holiday weekends shooting (targets, I assume) and driving very loud 4wd rigs around and around in the woods behind their house. Really annoying...

I live on my daughter’s property with rescued cows, sheep, horses, chickens, ducks and my dogs. I see kangaroos, so many birds, lizards and the occasional snake. My neighbours are the best.

Mine are not too bad. My girlfriend was killed by her new next door neighbour. She had just separated from her husband and moved to a new home with her young son. She befriended the retired gentleman next door. 3months later her shot her in the back of the head,he had chased her to her other neighbours home and shot infant of the elderly ladies that lived there. According to the police he became jealous when he saw her brother enter the home ,assuming it was her boyfriend.

We have the radio on outside when we are outside and a neighbour continually called the police who often had to come around and you couldn't even hear the music from the front yard and yet her dog howls every time she goes out . Our other neighbours are great though

We live on acreage so have no problem with neighbours

A neighbor that lived in the apartment above me would go out on her balcony put her cellphone on speaker and talk. This was almost every night when I went to bed. I could hear it like she was in the living room. She would also have her grandkids over and they would jump off furniture and run around her apartment.

You wouldn't even believe the things that happened at our old house. So much vandalism & crazy dogs & crazy people! Sooooo glad we moved, even though I loved our house. We took a cash offer & got out!

Being criticized for not working even though it wasn't the case. My old neighbors hate me for some reason. Been going on for years. Maybe I look a certain way but I don't even say anything back. It's surreal and shattered any faith I had in humanity.

Our neighbour tor up our nature strip that we had just seeded and we got a fine in the mail saying it need work. So i sent camera footage of the neighbour driving up oir driveway across our nature strip just to park on theres. The council said that one time. I said ill give u about 4 months of footage if u would like, no response. So i put 2 months of footage on a usb and sent it to them. They withdrew the fine plus late fees and left us alone. But we still had wars with our neighbour about it.

We've lived across from a virtual hermit for forty years. Won't engage, acknowledge a wave, say thanks for blowing his snow or otherwise be a part of civilization. His house is wilfully overgrown but the City is powerless to enforce minimum standards because he claims religious freedom and that all around him has life. Ok...we get it ...but how about those shredded roller-blinds and crumbling asphalt driveway, curled shingles and the hole in the siding made by woodpeckers now living in his walls? Do they have spirits too? It's not that he's destitute. His parents died years ago and left him this house and rental properties in Europe for income and a substantial cash inheritance. He's just a slob.

We live rural so have not encountered anything like that thank goodness.

Live on 20 acres, next door is on 20 acres, they call the police all the time for noise complaints for my grandchildren riding there peewee 50 motorbikes around for about 1.5 hours during the day on weekends. The police came again yesterday and said the neighbours are wasting the polices time, as it is not noisy and kids are having some fun. I think the neighbours should be charged for making false complaints.

Well, I bet you've never heard this before and neither had I, until it happened to me! Very angry neighbour was banging on the "share wall" of the maisonette, yelling at me for reporting him to his landlord for not paying his rent! Got very scary so I rang the police, they could hear him yelling and banging but wouldn't come out because he wasn't inside my home ... told them that would be too late to wait that long but still refused to come out!!!!

I think we were the nightmare back in 1994 when the NY Rangers won the Stanley Cup. We were yelling so loud watching the playoffs that our neighbors started watching to see what we were yelling about. We are still friendly. We also had a group of odd neighbors that were out of their minds. They picked on the couple who lived in between them. They stole his mail and wait for me to get home from work to tell me what happened while I was gone. Then one day I came home to a street full of police, he had a and died at the end of his driveway. Thank God we moved shortly after that.

We had a family a few years back who use to have parties starting on Friday night and ending at 7am on Sunday with music blasting so loud that it annoyed all our other neighbors too but we never complained because we didn't want to be rude. Surprising I know but they are long gone now and all we have now is peaceful and very loving neighbors and we all look out for each other which makes our neighborhood a nice place to live

I've been very lucky with neighbors. I had one that talked too much but that's it.

My neighbor sprayed my shoes in the hallway with Raid. Her spraying also was on bird food so I had to throw away 10 lbs bird food bag. This is not the first time or last time she had done so.

My neighbor thinks my house is her house and comes in (doors are locked) and takes what ever she wants. The other night she called me from her home phone and said to me, she came down to see if I was alright. I still do not get this. Once she asked me if she could borrow my husband. The Neighbour watching us and the cars that arrived at our place. This has been happening since they moved in approx. 25 years. A few times I have commented to my guests and then later on I find rusted nails in my driveway. Police attended their premises once but it was not through me. I preferred to ignore this even though it is annoying and sometimes concerning.

A crazy neighbour lady tried to run me over while I was out moving snow.

A bat out of hell 👹(50+ yr. old), we've never seen/heard of before, trespassed onto our property one peaceful April morning in 2023, used a nail gun to shoot our garage door, hitting our parked vehicle inside of it, shoot out the glass on our front door and windows, trying to get inside, shooting his nail gun at us and was mumbling a pile of nonsense. Not only did he threaten our lives, but he also did close to the same thing at another neighbour's home nearby. The police were called while we were under attack and he was caught.....then things got even more bazar: He was charged on at least 8 offences, spent only 24 hrs in detention, claimed crazy stuff like- the CIA sent him (here in Canada), to determine who we were, then his family was able to get him "lawyering" to say he has schizophrenia and had an "episode". Now, he received an NCR (not criminally responsible) ruling from the Court, and has ORB (Ontario Rehab., Board) attendance to "help him" manage "his drugs/treatments" while he still lives with his large family in our neighbourhood down the street. Only God knows why his angst took him to our doors and it's eyeopening with how we've calmly responded (we never harmed him). Just because we have security cameras and insurance, don't make this right. We are mindful that not all mentally ill persons are violent, but some go on to kill people and resume their freedoms to repeat. So, 🇨🇦 for us is just plum dandy, lovely even, if you don't ever defend yourself.... yet the God I worship (higher than all that) will truly deal with bats like him! # The weirdest (Twilight Zone) thing we've ever experienced in our entire lives!

Says who? I have yet to have a neighbor(s) I am upset with even a little. My neighbor knows I hate modern noise er music and when he is going to have a party w/ acid rock and other racket, he always tells me in advance so I can turn up m y own ballads or TV or use ehadphones on my DVD/BR player. Matt does not gripe re the loud TV and music and I tolerate his so called 'music'! My other next door neighbor(s) is/are airBnB time sharers I guess is the term I want. Anyway, they rent the place out. The owners live in NY state near Canada and I love to check out the vehicle plates for states and sometimes even countries like Germany, France, Canada and Belgium. Today they are having work done on the inside of the big double twin house and they hail from NC. I do not drive nor do I have a driving license so I allow Matt, Vanna and Trent (The noisemakers) to park in my backyard. It is OK because nobody ever visits me or have not since I moved here in 2012. I also do not have ready access to friends w/ vehicles so if I need anything, all I need do is tell one of the trio and they take me places I need to go or they go out and get whatever I need or want. I am 75 yrs young and walking more than a few miles a day to and from our local parks is about as far as I can manage w/ the leg that kicks up when the weather changes- an old training injury in 1970 when I was in the Guards at Fort Knox KY. I served 8 years and I am a US Veteran too.

I have the best neighbours! I am probably the odd one in the neighbourhood.

Had a few over the years. When I was a kid our next door neighbour was a bit crazy (probably suffering dementia I think) and she worked at the Melbourne markets. She would bring home fish, let them rot and then throw them at our front door. We never knew why. Another neighbour would dress up in hot track suit with hat and gloves in the middle of summer and wash the rocks in his small garden every week. He would also mow the lawn down to the root system. Another would sweep his roof every weekend among other crazy things. Another made his own transport which he drove around the streets - it was like a raft. He would take his pet goat with him. And I could keep going. I always said I attract nutters but I guess they had mental issues.
