Firstly i am all for the vaccination as it saves me and my family and the rest of the world. Secondly I agree with the mandate of allowing bosses to ask staff to vaccinate because I should be able to feel safe when i go into a business knowing that the staff are not going to infect me. Thirdly i didn't ask anyone to protest for me; I can do that myself if I think the cause is just. Fourthly we all get vaccinated at birth for many diseases and no one complains and this is why we dont have people trying to breath in an iron lung from polio and other diseases that have all but been eradicated here in Australia.( look it up on U tube; not a pretty sight) Fifth point, if demonstrators want to put themselves in harms way and not wear masks why should they then be able to seek help in hospitals when they do catch COVID that they are demonstrating against. Sixth point, these "ordinary Aussies" can not come up with one reasonable reason based on science why they should not get the vaccine. Unless somehow they know more then all the worlds scientists and health workers. seventh point, the gov introduced a no jab no play policy a few years ago to protect the children of ordinary Aussies from those children who were not vaccinated. I back this up as I want to protect my children and would keep them away from unvaccinated children rather then watch them suffer from whooping cough etc

Your reply is full of rubbish and lies, of the vaccines you mention, only Pfizer and Moderna are mRNA vaccines and only have two components, the genetic information (mRNA) that instructs your cells to make a small fragment of the S protein and the carrier which is an exosome or similar compound. Astra Zeneca use different technology wherein a small piece of the spike protein is inserted into a monkey flu virus and it penetrates into the cell nucleus and replicates so your immune system can recognise it. (mRNA vaccines do not penetrate into the cell nucleus) Also it is well known that macrophages can cause a cytokine storm in COVID patients that damaged the bodies organs, but a number of anti inflammatory drugs have now been identified to mitigate that risk. they include hydro chloroquine, JAK inhibitors, IL-1 and IL-6 inhibitors and also Colchicine, a very cheap and effective anti-inflammatory used to treat gout. As for you claim that Pfizer contains graphene oxide, this is another lie. It does not and the lie that is circulating on social media that it does is based on a supposed report from a professor in a Spanish university that claimed to have studied a sample of Pfizer vaccine from an unknown origin through an electron microscope and found structures that were similar to graphene oxide, importantly, similar, not the same…!! In any case while they have been investigating using small amounts of it in vaccines (small because it is toxic) they are just investigations to evaluate it’s potential and it is not used in any vaccines anywhere at the moment. Further more the professor named and the university have both distanced themselves from the supposed report now. In regards to your claims that polyethylene glycol is antifreeze, it is not. Antifreeze usually contains ethylene glycol (very poisonous) Some antifreeze contains propylene glycol, and is marketed as non toxic antifreeze. Btw, Glycol is just another name for glycerine. Polyethylene glycol is used medically extensively, most commonly as a laxative and is also used to clean out your colon prior to colonoscopies or surgery on your gut. In fact I had to drink 2 bottles of a solution containing it on the weekend in preparation for my colonoscopy. It is only weakly toxic and used in a controlled amounts poses no risk to your health. The amount in a vaccine would be minuscule compared to the amount I had to drink on the weekend and I am still here to type this. If you want to know exactly what is in the Pfizer vaccine go to their website and download their facts sheet on the vaccine. Let me explain something more about viral infections and why vaccines are important. It is all about the viral load you are exposed to. As soon as the virus enters your body it starts to replicate. A lot of virus means the numbers ramp up much more quickly than if just a few have entered. How sick you get is dependent on how quickly your body’s immune system can mount a defence against them and destroy them faster than they can replicate. If you get a lot of virus in you initially and your immune system has never seen it before it will be slow to ramp up it’s own defences and likely will be overwhelmed by the sheer number of replicating viruses in your body and you will get very sick or die. The current vaccines give the body a look-see at a small fragment of the virus and allow them to make some antibodies against it, even though it has never seen the complete virus. One jab produces a few antibodies, 2 jabs re-enforces that response and prompts the immune system to produce a lot more, and of course 3 jabs produces even more, so that even if you get a decent exposure to the virus the immune system already has a standing army of macrophages ready and armed to slow down the invader and then snuff it out as it rapidly makes more and more macrophages to overwhelm the infection. The key to it all is which side can replicate quicker and that determines who will win..

Thanks Pato. Just a wee question! Everyone’s immune system is different so y are we all given the same dosage and clearly it depends on our ability to produce anti bodies? Is the vaccine effective to someone who has contracted the virus but not yet vaccinated? Government’s prioritising groups who should or should receive it at certain times? Do we not trust in our God given ability to build on our own immunity. Nico, first let me point out that what I have described are not theories, they are proven medical facts that can be easily verified by doing a little research on the topic. Yes everybody’s immune systems are different for many reasons, one of them being prior exposure to pathogens. You need to understand very clearly about the importance of the viral load (ie the number of virus particles that initially enter your body). A strong immune system in a healthy young individual that is not distracted in fighting other infections has a chance of quickly ramping up enough defensive cells to fight off a mild exposure. However it helps if it already has seen the invader before, and already has some defensive cells specifically designed to attack it. If that is the case, It will deal with it all the more quickly. The vaccine dose just needs to be sufficient to wake up the immune system to the threat, then re-enforce the wake up call so it does not forget it with 2nd and possibly 3rd doses. The key to the whole thing is whether the body can produce defensive cells faster than the virus can replicate and vaccines give the body a big head start..The current COVID vaccines are not therapeutic vaccines, they cannot attack the virus in the same way a drug such as an antibiotic directly inhibits or destroys a bacteria, they are only designed to get the immune system to start producing it’s own specialised cells to do the job. (There are therapeutic vaccines available for some other conditions though) Think about it like this. Imagine a country with no standing army that suddenly gets invaded. They will be overwhelmed and conquered very easily, the invader will swarm into their country before they can organise and raise an army to combat them. Then consider a country that is situated next to another country that they know will invade them if they see an opportunity. This country knows the threat and has a sophisticated standing army to deal with them if they try, and can slow them down as they ramp up and bolster their own defences against the invaders and repulse them… Hope that helps.. I have investments in a number of companies that have a variety of interests in the COVID situation. The blood clotting in AZ is not the same as normal blood clots, the triggers are different to normal clots and basically you have to have a very specific auto immune disease to be subject to risk. Most people would be fine with either AZ or Pfizer.

It takes 2 shots and a total of 12 weeks to gain immunity, vaccines are not drugs that will attack the virus and destroy it after you get sick, they active the immune system to produce antibodies ready to fight the virus if it gets into your body. Getting vaccinated after you get sick would be totally useless..

am very scared of catching covid..but also very scared of having an adverse reaction to a vaccine- as i have eczema asthma- not sure if this puts me in the risk group or not. God what to do. My husband is profoundly disabled from a stroke- i hope he will have the vaccine- and then at least i can stop worrying about him. There seems to be a small risk for seriously health compromised individuals with some vaccines, possibly the Sino one and Pfizer, however that risk is quite small (but still there) compared to the risk of serious illness from the virus. As you live in NZ where there is little risk from the virus at the moment, perhaps a wait and see how things develop might be to go, however you have to consider that if things take a turn for the worse it maybe hard to access the vaccine just when you really need it.. No easy choices in your situation. Also realise that with you compromised health catching the virus could well be a death sentence for both of you, so if I was in your situation I would probably take my chances with the vaccine, being the lesser of the two risks.

I believe that like here in Aus NZ has the virus situation well under control. The risk is now mostly with the new variants. You should monitor the situation closely in your own country and take action to get vaccinated if things start to get out of control.
