Good point. Anything I do subscribe to is not paid for directly so I do not use ad blockers. I simply ignore ads on the internet. I use social to keep up with friends and family and on very rare occasions to meet others.

I am not into ANY of the streaming services for a start. Social media certainly does not control my life. I prefer to meet people in person. I know some people are limited in doing this.

I think social media is a waste of time, and surcharges on EFTPOS transactions are a waste of money. I thought the government was putting an end to them but I was charged another 19 cents today for using my own money. It doesn't sound much but it's enough for them to charge it.

As a kid we had comics in our weekend newspapers. At around 6 I used to help out in my Grandpa's shop by opening out the pages of newspapers. I had great fun in reading the comics one of which was Ginger Meggs. The line which has always stayed with me on one of the occasions where Meggsie lost all his pocket money was "A fool and his money are soon parted". Supermarket paper bags !!😡 l hate paying 25c for just one of them and then they break by the handles or spilt on the edges ..especially as the staff are usually useless at packing them... Overpack or careless .lt's a business You should be giving us free bags to take our product home in after you've made a nice profit from us ( massive profits compared to other stores who give you a free bag!!); .. and you'll also get free advertising as we walk down the street with your logo on the bags eh? Then any surviving bags just collect in my cupboard expecting to be bought to the shop again one day ..mm never going to happen. Too bulky ,,and annoying and will not be in a good enough state by the time they get walked home again. I just love my ad blocker. Here in Canada, business rules so there are enough pop-up ads in 1 1/2 hours to make a feature length movie. If you're using a blocker, and there are no ads popping up, then it's working just like it's advertised to. People who use their machines a lot come into contact with undesirables on a too frequent basis. It all depends on your tolerance level for these nasty bits of code that suggests you need protection or not.You do use a virus blocker, don't you? One exciting adventure with one of these destructive devils will sell you on the need for one forever.

Stopped using ad blockers years ago because half of them were unreliable and slowed my computer down too much.I just ignore online ads as much as I can. The only paid subscription I will ever use is for streaming and listening to music so as for the rest, not interested.

I ignore them all. I have No Subscriptions, No Social Media Accounts, I prefer Real Life Friends whom I can shake hands with, hug, kiss, see in person and talk with. Strange isn't it? People complain about being abused, groomed, lied to, scammed on Social Media sites. But sugesst that maybe they are responsible and have the power to put a stop to it all by Cancelling those silly Social Media sites, which are nothing more than a money making scam for the owners, they hit the roof, demand Government do something blah. blah. blah. You signed up, get used to all you opened yourself up to. Subscriptions? Why do you need these? get out amongst the Real World instead of sitting at home all day/night staring at that screen. The less of Yourself YOU, its no-one else just YOU, put into the Internet the less you will be bombarded, the fewer scams, hoaxes, scams YOU will be subjected to. or is it that people have become addicted to wanting to have something to complain about?

It's just like insurance, as soon as a few more people try and claim their insurance there's an emergency on TV the insurance can't cope. I've always used free Add blockers if anything. Or I just ignore every add I've ever seen, because when I've always got the Surveys asking me if I've ever seen a particulat add before I just have to say no. even if I really try hard to think about whether I've seen the add before. That goes to say just maybe if we can buy Neos with adds all over their bodys that constantly change they might be cheaper than 30 grand, although they would need more regulay charging. And any one who is smart enough would just dress it up in thicker clothes to avoid the adds. Now those who dress their Neos up in thicker clothes might be seen as criminals.

Which products do I consider a waste of time or money, and why? Well, and this is just my personal opinion, every Social Media site except for Pintrest, because it has become a place to disrespect others opinions and ideas, and to bully others. I waste no time on any of those sites. I like Rewardia's small forum, but that's it. ;-D

I don't worry too much, I don't have any streaming services, only free ones like Youtube and Spotify, also have free Amazon Alex to play music. You can get away with a lot with free stuff.

100% like on tv me I just mute the ads but there are some fun ads we don't mind listening to or some times singing along too even if we hate what the ad is promoting like the goat for Paramount sing stream, stream streaming too cute but annoying all at the same time LOL that's the point I think. Hubbl is one of those we'll keep all your streaming content in one place to make it easier for you to pay more, stream more. Okay only if you have reliable internet connection which we really don't and would be annoyed to had out laid all that money and it didn't work so we just don't go there to start with. Common sense people is all we need and it is reliable a majority of the time. So no we don't waste money because we have no money to waste, maybe if we were richer and had some to spare.

The cost of what I used to pay with Foxtel to watch a few shows, and the amount I pay for ad-free streaming is better and cheaper, so either way I feel like I've had a win. Green waste recycling that the state of CA requires us to pay extra for. I'm not confident that my green garbage is actually being composted because neighbors in my complex put the wrong stuff in the bin and someone also dumps it out into the dumpster if it gets full before the trash company picks it up. There are also only two days per year that you can go get your trash back in the form of compost and both days are inconvenient, so I've never been able to get any of the compost I'm paying for!

I do surveys on ads and make a bit of extra money, but I do find a lot of them not worth watching as they seem to be silly to me, if you don't like ad blockers don't use them, why pay for something you don't like. A bit of a silly question to me and hard to understand, no right or wrong answers here.

I don't have any subscriptions in the first place. They are too easy to overlook as most people don't seem to check their bank statements these days as they have to go and look for them.

Some people do just that. No wonder so many have financial problems. Biggest pet peeve is all the items thrown out because the items says it is expired when they are perfectly okay to still use. So much waste in our country.

I find subscription services don't really save you that much money, no matter the subscription service. I usually just buy based on what I need at the time and buy in bulk if I can on the site. Streaming sites, like Netflix, etc, without ads here in Canada, are reasonably priced. I only have one subscription site I'm with, although I canceled it last year. I just look at it this way...if you see something online and it seems like a good deal, especially in bulk, check out a few other sites where you might think they sell it and go with the cheaper one. I honestly buy body wash, deodorant and skin care products in bulk, because it's cheaper and I know I won't run out as quick and will save a bit in the end for doing do. Just go with your gut, because it will never fail.you.

I think that, at my age, I've seen enough ads and I don't need anything more....so, when I'm watching a movie or listen to music, I don't want nothing and nobody trying to sell me something. Amazon Prime & subscription services are a total waste of money. I love ordering from Amazon & in my opinion, if shipping fees are gonna be charged, fine & if not, fine too. I think shipping fees & shipping times should be the same for all. And while I am venting, I hate to order an item & find out the shipping costs more than the item! That's all, I am done!

My husband put ad blockers on all our devices and they help cut down on a lot of the chatter. Think these days my pet peeve is that medical professionals don't always coordinate either their orders or appointments. My husband just had open-heart surgery and the VA sometimes makes 2 or 3 appointments on the same day--often at two different locations. He's REALLY tired at the end of those days.

To get us to spend our (hard-earned money) money foolishly - which has worked for at least six hundred years - one of the basic components of CAPITALISM (which we all know and love)!

A fool is easily separated from their money as the saying goes. I do not have any of these things you have to pay for. I do have a smartphone as they cut the land line off from where I live. We had smartphones go down a few years back and no one could ring 000 (911 USA) and the company had the gall to say use landline. I rarely take my phone with me when I leave the house. I hate having to carry it up and down the stairs at home so I let it ring and call people back - another peeve. I used to have 3 phones for landline so I never had to walk far (aged and arthritic). I pay cash mostly these days to avoid all the charges we get on the cards or at the vendors etc. I do not go to nail salons, hair dressers, coffee shops and rarely restaurants as being on a pension and with the cost of everything going through the roof who can afford it anyway. The only people making money are the rich whilst everyone else is becoming poorer. AI is coming everywhere and more people will be out of work. These stupid companies have no foresight as if people have no jobs how can they pay for things. Still they persist parting money from the masses and the masses hand it over willy nilly. I refuse to get pay TV or streaming services - I already spend too much time on my backside (here for instance, haha!) I also refuse to get a smartphone because I don't want to be bothered when I'm out. On public transport, I read a physical book. I've never had my nails done at a salon - nail polish is cheaper, so I do my nails at home.

The more lazy and stupid we become...the more services will become available to soak up any stray cash...
