If egg prices keep climbing, soon that is going to be where people are unable to afford. Right now, the cheapest dozen in our stores is 5.99 a box and the eggs are fairly small.

  Only place that has eggs currently is Aldi, 5.80 for xlarge dozen. Woolies and Coles haven't had them near me since before Christmas. And when they do it's between $8-$10 a dozen

My Xfinity/Comcast bill is the highest! I have cable TV, the Internet and a landline phone. In 2013 it was $99 a month, but slowly rose to $225. I applied for the low income Internet, and it dropped to $145, but has risen again to $157! I'm calling them again to find out what's going on! ;-( Edited 13-Jan-25 08:37am

They all seem to be climbing at least 20% a year, electricity, gas, water, sewage, petroleum, building materials, land, rates, soft drinks, coffee, and just about everything else, for one reason or another, are we getting more value for the higher prices? We are being gouged by corporations, politicians, and banks. When staff or workers ask for a pay rise to offset the cost of living, the gouges are struggling to make a profit, and they are the worst people out there.

Health and house insurance are right up there and no doubt will increase further with the number of insurance claims that will unfortunately be made due to the LA fires. So sad. Having said that when looking at what is happening there seems no other alternative than to have both these insurances. Very important to shop around.

  my last rental in rural NSW, was $2250 a month,nowhere near town in bush . And the availability is almost zero. Most empty homes are air b' n b and charge my monthly rent for a week stay.
