I most of the time get bad ones but to day a person stopped and I said hi to them and gave them a component it was grate and then gave them self a compiment to it was grate it made my day the person had a surf bord and I said wow that a real surf bord I said can you stand up on it and every thing I think that person deserves a gold medal for getting out there in the ocean and having a go at it rock on people

An older lady thanked me for allowing her to get on the bus first...called me a gentleman and made me blush! Sorry to say, most people don't even bother to say "Thank you"

The funniest one was when I was showing people where to go and helping them with luggage. One man said to me: "I was going to say you're a gentleman but you're not!" LOL The best one is that I come across as calming. Been said by a few people now.

When i was a kid i was walking on the right hand side of a footpath, when an elderly man yelled at me to move to the left and proceeded to use his walking stick to hit me between the legs.I slumped to the ground and when my dad who was ahead of me realised what had happened he wanted to challenge the old man.I asked him not to bother and limped off.

Worst would have to be when I take my Down's Syndrome sister to any appointments and they take me for her mother or even grandmother. I put this down to the fact that you really cannot tell most of their ages. My excuse. Best is nearly every week when my hubby says how young I look and also the fact of how good I look in something. I always make a point of when in a shopping centre complimenting our older lovely people on their attire, hair etc. It does make their day as I know it makes mine when someone usually will comment on my hair.

I had a photo taken for my passport and it was horrible and I aid I did not like it as it did not really look like me and this woman says "It's funny how we perceive ourselves as better than what we are" I thought how nasty. Left and went elsewhere and got a much more accurate and nicer photo. She was either jealous of other women or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed but it stayed with me and I am now 71. Imagine if I was a teen and someone said that to me. I was 40 at the time and going through a nasty divorce so it did imprint a bit negative on my self esteem.

The heart specialist told me I had the heart of a 25-year-old when I was 65 years of age. By far the best compliment I have ever had. I must add that I was so proud of myself thinking it was the work I had done over the years, but my GP put me in my place by saying it was the drugs ie Lipitor and antihypertensive drugs that she had encouraged me to take over the years.

That my daughter is my sister, I love it it but she hates that. LOL

I had a middle-aged woman at a cosmetics counter at Myer who didn't believe me when I told her my age. She said I was doing something right! That made me feel good. I'll stop a stranger on the street to say "nice bag" or "great shoes." I like old ladies' brooches, too. It puts a smile on their faces to hear it.

WORST COMPLIMENT: A judge - inform me as a teen-ager - my (PSI) pre-sentence investigation - inform him I was too "smart" to be in juvenile court - he gave me a break (because I was from a "broken home - beyond repair" and I had "never" been in trouble before) - therefore, I did not get bound over too adult court - looking at adult penalties (felony charges) - instead I got probation - with no criminal charges haunting me as an adult. NEVER have issues with the law - again - EVER. What that particular judge said to me - STUCK with me for the rest of my life (I realizes I could make it - on a 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (job)) - I JUST was never going to become RICH - working a job (which I accept)!!!! Still, I ended up retiring from (took early retirement) from civil service (from the federal government) - with a civil service retirement check (100% disability). Never got shot when I was living and surviving on the streets - got shot on the job by a disgruntled employee!!!!Edited 11-Feb-21 23:57pm
